How can Telecom allow their network to be disrupted so easily? Have they heard of redundancy? Why don't they switch comms

Secure Remote and NT domain logon - frustrations v.4.1 rel4118
BUT, on a couple of computers the login never connects. So I'm doing some testing and I discover the default login is DOMAIN/USERNAME and then a blank for the password. If I simply change the login to USERNAME, dropping the DOMAIN/ from it - it logs in fine. Exchange 2003 SP 2, all clients are XPP SP 2.

But you may want to consider changing the internal network name to one that cannot resolve outside the network - that would involve removing all PCs from the domain, destroying the domain, then re-creating it with a different name (domainname.LOCAL would be a good choice) that doesn't resolve in the real world.

So, I choose to join my domain and not to my suprise it failed... (I thought there would be issues since the computer account already existed in active directory.. But to my suprise it booted ok.. and proceeded to the domain logon box.. hmm. Still a member of the domain? So I logon and get a blue screen dump.

We have it setup now, but whenever you try to log-in, it give gives you an error saying "domain server not found" .. yet, when you click ok, it still logs you in and you can connect to the server just fine. Any ideas how to fix this or get the message to go away? thanks for your time.
